Содержимое папки Temp можно спокойно удалить,ведь она используеться для временного хранения инсталяционных файлов,которые некоторые программы после использования не всегда за собой подчищают.После удаления этих файлов антивирус перестанет ругаться.Можно воспользоваться специальными утилитами которые очищают папки Temp(например CCleaner).Также можно зайти в систему в безопасном режиме(при включении компа нажать и держать клавишу F8),найти эту папку и удалить файлы вручную.
P.S.Крутой сисадмин(не про себя).

which my Sophos virus checker is unable to open and scan as it is always locked. I took a copy of this file in safe mode and uploaded it to Sophos technical support and they have written back to me to confirm that it is clean. I am not sure where file file has suddenly come from but if anyone out there knows what it is for I would love to you.

Further if you are interested in know what has created the file then I would suggest you to use tools like Process Monitor
If it’s always locked, its in use by a process.
If you download a program called «Unlocker», it can tell you what processes are using the file. When you right click any file and choose Unlocker on the context menu, it will open a dialog that tells you all the processes using the file. You then have the choice to «unlock» the file by using unlocker so you can delete it if you want.
Chances are, you won’t want to because some background program you have chosen to run created the file and needs it.
